Q: Wont my roommate know it was me who rated them?

A: Not necessarily, since RateTheRoomie technically only requires you to know the person and their living habits to rate them. For all your roomie knows, it could be their next door neighbor that rated them. Unless you give some type of hint in you rating - for example sharing something only you would know, you may compromise your anonymity. As long as you stick to the questions on the rating form, your roommate shouldn't find it too easy to know you submitted the rating, and not someone else.

Q: I don't like the rating someone gave me, can I have it removed or changed?

A: RateTheRoomie only removes ratings upon request via email. As stated in our Terms of Use, “RateTheRoomie.Com will remove any content that is requested to be removed, as long as an individual contacts us with a proper reason to - otherwise…” Click here to read our full policy and Terms of Use.

Q: Don't people just use this site to bash their bad roommates?

A: No in fact, if you look at our current ratings more than half of them are three stars and up. We promote and encourage you to leave nice ratings. Constructive criticism is good, but positive feedback is great!

Q: My school isn't listed as a choice when I try to make an account. What do I do

A: When you go to register for an account, there is a link next to the drop down menu that reads "School not listed? Let us know". Click that link or simply click here to fill out a form and notify us. We may contact you afterwards to follow up with your request.

Q: Who created RateTheRoomie.Com?

A: RateTheRoomie was created by a college student for college students in 2009, and has been gaining popularity ever since!
